My Story
I started to notice early signs of perimenopause at the age of 39. Mostly extreme fatigue and debilitating anxiety: I had days that I couldn’t go through without a 2-hour nap or at some point I was too anxious to drive my car!
There were times where I would seriously question my health, to the point of thinking that maybe there is something horribly wrong with me like cancer.
Today I no longer feel this way.
What changed?
I went on a quest to know more about myself and women’s health and started studying Female Physiology and Nutrition Science.
As we move from the reproductive years onto perimenopause, we change. And therefore our training, nutrition and general health management changes too.
I’m astounded how little did I know about not only what menopause is but also about my health during the reproductive years. There are so many things we can start implementing long before perimenopause slaps us in the face. It really doesn’t have to be such a bumpy road.
I think the worst feeling for women is that unknown of what’s going on. Why the things we used to do are not working anymore. And, of course, life is not linear but at least now I have the tools to ride this change as an informed and empowered warrior woman. Valkyrie!
