About the Recipe
A recipe that was inspired by the one and only: Gaz Oakley. You can drink it as food-as-medicine for it's anti-inflammatory properties or simply use it dressings.
Ingredients
2 onions, chopped roughly
3 bulbs garlic, halved
1/2 cup fresh ginger, chopped
1/2 cup fresh turmeric root, chopped
2-3 fresh chillis, chopped
2 lemons, cut into chunks
4 fresh rosemary leaves, stalks removed
4-5 fresh sage leaves
1 cinnamon stick
3 star anise
3 cloves
Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar

Preparation
Add all the ingredients to a large sealable jar & then pour over the apple cider vinegar to cover completely.
Store the jar in a cool, dark place for about 3-4 weeks (but it won't go off if you forget about it1). Shake the jar once every couple of days to agitate the mixture.
After the steeping period, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean glass container. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
You can sweeten your fire cider with maple to taste if you find it too strong. Start with a tablespoon and adjust from there.
Store the fire cider in the refrigerator. It will keep for several months.
Take 1 tbsp. daily, mixed with water. I like to drink it first thing in the morning. It has some benefits when drank before meals for those who are keen to increase their insulin sensitivity.
It's very acidy so - as not to interfere with your teeth health - perhaps rinse your mouth with water after having it.
